NBC Universal Removes Oxygen Channel From the Region
“REV disappointed that NBC Universal could not continue to extend rights to the region”
REV television subscribers are advised that effective February 28th, 2018, NBC Universal Entertainment Group, a division of NBC Universal will cease carriage of the Oxygen network to the region.
John Gomez, REV COO advised that the company has carried the digital network from 2005. “We continue in our efforts to offer the best available content for our television subscribers. However, as a result of these changes in rights and licensing agreements, no cable operator in the region will be able to offer the Oxygen Channel to their subscribers.”
“In a spirit of cooperation with NBC Universal we are seeking to acquire the more popular programming that would have aired on Oxygen for broadcast on OURTV.” shared, VP Marketing, David Burrows. When asked whether customers should expect any additional changes to their channel lineup, Burrows offered, “There are ongoing changes with programming impacting REV and the English speaking Caribbean region. We began negotiations in 2017 and continue to acquire some of the top content that may be impacted in the future.”
