Cable Bahamas Business Solutions Celebrates International Women’s Day
Supporting and Empowering the young girls of our community
Cable Bahamas Business Solutions celebrates International Women’s Day through the support
of the TrailBlazers Empowered Girls Camp. As the industry leader in technology and advanced
connectivity for local and family island businesses, our organization remains committed and
dedicated to investing in the future of young girls within the community. That’s why we’re
proud to support TrailBlazers, a girl’s empowerment initiative which was recently hosted at
Windsor School, Old Fort campus.
TrailBlazers is a groundbreaking youth empowerment initiative, founded by Sophie Storm
Roberts, an adventure athlete, mindset coach and motivational speaker. She is recognized as
the only person in history to have climbed the highest mountains in the eight alpine countries
and cycled between them, climbing five times the height of Mount Everest in just 32 days.
Roberts brought her adventurous spirit and teamed up with Lisa McCartney, Founder and
Director of both The Meridian School and Windsor Boarding & Day School to host a 2-day
empowerment camp for young girls that recently took place Friday, March 3rd and Saturday,
March 4th .
This camp gave sixty-five pre-teen and teenage girls the opportunity to participate in activities
designed to help develop confidence and courage. The weekend included outdoor activities,
challenges and workshops designed to inspire, and encourage the young women to discover
their best selves and be proud of their individuality. “It’s been an absolute dream to bring
TrailBlazers to the Bahamas,” commented Roberts. “In just 24 hours the girls explored
what it means to be confident, brave and resilient, with compassion to themselves and
others.”
Studies have shown that mentorship can have a profound impact on a young person’s life,
helping them build confidence, develop new skills, and pursue their dreams. Through this
weekend program, girls had the opportunity to connect with successful female leaders,
receiving guidance and support in a safe and fun environment.
“Our goal for introducing this program was to create an opportunity to empower and inspire
young women and ensure they are equipped with the skills and knowledge necessary to
achieve their goals and make a positive impact in the world.” said McCartney. “We believe that
by investing in the potential of young women, we can create a brighter future for all.”
As a company committed to promoting diversity and equality, Cable Bahamas Business
Solutions was honored to support this initiative and help create an unforgettable experience for
two students from St. John’s College.
“We are committed to investing in the potential of our community’s youth,” commented
Jennifer Basden, Head of B2B Marketing for Cable Bahamas Ltd. “It is through these types of
programs; we are able to ensure we create a better tomorrow for everyone.”
As the leading technology provider, Cable Bahamas Business Solutions is dedicated to working
with partners to empower young people to pursue and achieve their full potential.
