Cable Bahamas Group CEO to Address CANTO Virtual Conference

Driving gender equity empowering women to be leaders in the fields of engineering and technology.

Franklyn Butler, CEO and President of Cable Group of Companies, is set to present at the Caribbean Association of National Telecommunications Organizations (CANTO) 38th Annual General Meeting under the theme “Stronger Together:  Supporting Gender Equity Through Male Allyship.”

The conversation regarding women in technology, particularly within the fields of STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) is one that is rapidly increasing within our region and the Cable Bahamas Group of companies seeks to lead in addressing this issue here in the Bahamas.

Recognizing gender inequality is not just a women’s issue, but a broader societal issue impacting all companies across the world the leadership at Cable Bahamas through its recent launch of the Women In Technology campaign has taken the position to support and celebrate the influential women within the organization who have helped to shape and lead our teams.  Through the many achievements and advancements made throughout our 25 years in business, Cable Bahamas has established itself as a company where women are empowered to become leaders in the fields of engineering and technology.  This is evident through the more than half of key executives within the group being women who now hold senior executive roles including vice president’s of major business divisions.

“Boosting female representation in technology has been high on our agenda,” noted Mr. Butler.  “When it comes to advancing gender equity, the Cable Group of Companies is uniquely positioned to drive change around social norms, to expand economic opportunity for women, and create products and solutions that better serve our customers…we are able to accomplish this endeavor based on the talent and resources of the many women who work to help develop innovative solutions within our organization.”

CANTO supports diversity in its many forms and strives to bring together those who believe in the strength and equality of women.  More and more companies are finding ways to break the glass ceiling and creatively address gender equity.

The event is scheduled to take place February 10th – 11th and will be hosted virtually.  To be a part of this dynamic conversation, register today at www.CANTO.org.
