Cable Bahamas Group Gives Another Helping Hand to Hands for Hunger
CBL Group Executives, staff and Hands for Hunger team deliver groceries and supplies to families in Eleuthera, Harbour Island
With a continued commitment to connect and support families in the communities in which we work and live, the Cable Bahamas Group of Companies has once again partnered with Hands for Hunger, the nation’s largest NGO as a part of our ongoing initiative, “Giving A Helping Hand.”
The GHH initiative launched April of this year with a PantryTakeover. The Cable Group sponsored the cost of stocking the Hands for Hunger Pantry for 1 Week. Members of the executive team and staff along with partners including Bahamasair, Kanoo, Super Value, Coca-Cola and Sun Oil came out in full support to package and distribute grocery items for persons who visited the pantry during the allotted time.
With a pledge to also support Family Islands, a Pantry Takeover was schedule for Eleuthera. Keisha Ellis, Managing Director had this to say, “We are thankful to have the corporate partners such as Cable Bahamas and the Group of Companies. It is through their support, and those like it that we can impact so many families in need.”
Members of the public were also invited to support this incredible campaign through donations made via the Together Bahamas website www.togetherbahamas.com. Together Bahamas is the number one online crowdfunding platform in The Bahamas which was used to help drive funding for this campaign. A total of Five Thousand Dollars was raised during the month of April. All proceeds were used to purchase needed supplies and groceries for families in need in Eleuthera, Harbour Island.
Aliv CEO, Mr. John Gomez had this to say about his volunteer work over the weekend, “I am incredibly happy to support the residents of Harbour Island. It is both rewarding and satisfying to be able to give assistance to the families on the island. I am also extremely proud of our staff and partners who gave of their time to make this happen. This is what it’s all about and what Cable Bahamas Group of Companies stands for.”
