Cable Bahamas Group of Companies CEO and Staff take the plunge to support Cancer awareness
Connecting for the Cure & Survivor stories that make an impact.
Cable Bahamas Group of Companies partnered with the Cancer Society of the Bahamas to launch the first annual Connecting for the Cure campaign. This initiative opened with the sharing of survival stories using the power of the Cable Bahamas network. Each featured survivor recounted their personal story and shared their testimonials and survival tips on our social media channels.
As a part of this initiative, the CBL Group hosted two staff fundraising events in support of breast cancer awareness month. Treats for Ta-Ta’s invited staff to make a donation in exchange an assortment cookies and donuts. The second fundraising event, ‘Beers for Boobies” and a “Soak Ya Boss” event rallied executives and management to take the bucket challenge to help in the fight against cancer. Total proceeds of Four Thousand Dollars ($4K) were accumulated from both events and presented to the Cancer Society of the Bahamas in support of the work they do with their cancer patients.
President and CEO, Franklyn Butler was one of many who led the charge in helping to raise funds for this worthy cause. “I was happy to take the ‘Soak Ya Boss’ challenge in support of our fight against cancer,” noted Franklyn Butler, Group President and CEO. “The Cable Group is dedicated to supporting the fight against cancer and I am proud that we could all come together to raise awareness and hope. I was happy to step up and do my part and excited to see so many members of my executive team and staff show their support in helping to make this event successful.”
Also helping to drive excitement for the Connecting for the Cure campaign was General Manager for QBC Group of Companies, Andrew Wilson. QBC Group donated a 50’ Samsung Flat Screen Smart TV which was used as an incentive for staff members during this event.
“We were delighted to work along with the Cable Group of Companies” said Andrew Wilson, General Manager for the QBC Group. We are happy to support this initiative to help support those affected by cancer. It definitely is a great cause and we are looking forward to working along with CBL of companies next year.”
