Heads Up! Changes Ahead for REV Customers

Big Changes in store for Cable TV Provider

 

Changes are in store for REV, the Bahamas’ first 100% Bahamian owned Triple Play provider. Effective September 30th, 2020 a series of significant changes to the REVTV platform will commence, beginning with the removal of several channels. These removals are the first step in a tiered overhaul of the catalogue of REVTV packages. This will be followed by a re-sorting of existing packages, making some premium content available on lower tiered options and vice versa. REV users will also have access to new Over the Top (OTT) content through app subscriptions included within their REVTV packages like the CuriosityStream App and HBOGO with several others expected to come on stream.

When asked about the rationale behind these changes REV Chief Operating Officer, John Gomez said, “We are committed to providing the best viewing experience possible for our customers. As a result, we often assess our programming to ensure we continue delivering the best value for them to enjoy. In some cases that requires us to remove certain channels that aren’t adding the value we’re looking for in order to make room for other content our users would enjoy… Customer viewership and programming costs are two key factors taken into consideration when making changes to our channel lineup and they were the ultimate deciding factor in these particular removals.”

While the company is confident that users will enjoy the new, updated cable TV packages they do apologize for any inconvenience that comes with these adjustments. “We know that these exercises can be uncomfortable for our users. We feel confident however, that the changes to our TV lineup will please our subscribers. We have successfully integrated Hallmark and other Hollywood movies into our OURTV programming and are in the process of pursuing dozens of other series and movies to air on OUR TV in the near future to ensure our subscribers always have access to the best in digital entertainment. This exercise also enables us to provide even more local content to our subscribers” Gomez continued.

With much of the TV industry moving toward OTT experiences, REV has chosen to move with the times, replacing certain static TV channels with dynamic entertainment apps that allow viewers to enjoy their favorite content on demand and at their leisure. Users can also take advantage of REVGO Play, REV’s very own TV Everywhere app which allows users to watch, record or restart their favorite TV content from the palm of their hand. REVGO Play allows 4 registered devices with 3 simultaneous streams per account ensuring that every member of the family can watch their favorite shows without fighting over the TV screen. REV’s new TV guide also allows users to search for programs by genre and receive recommendations for similar titles. REV TV customers are encouraged to look out for REVRemind emails which are an excellent recommendation engine for types of shows and movies they’ll love.
