REV sponsors local theatre festival for nine consecutive years

“Shakespeare in Paradise receives major donation” -- Bahamian theatre company, Ringplay Productions announced REV as the major sponsor for the ninth annual Shakespeare in Paradise theatre festival. “Quite simply, our partnership with REV over the years has allowed Shakespeare in Paradise to exist.” says Dr Nicolette Bethel. “ Our festival produces original works, brings in international productions, and revives old but well-loved Bahamian plays for new audiences, among them a whole group of students from the public and private schools. We appreciate all that REV has done for us over the years. Particularly valuable to both of us is their recording of our productions.”
The festival, which has become a major event for schools and Shakespeare fans alike is designed to expose Bahamian audiences to the very best in local, Caribbean, African and American theatre traditions. The festival will run from Monday, October 2nd until Saturday, October 14th boasting four plays and two concerts this season.

REV announces Centric renaming to BET HER

“Network Aligns itself with BET Brand”— Cable Bahamas (CBL) announced that it’s official, the first entertainment network targeting black women has renamed from Centric to BET HER. Starting September 25th, the network channel, which can be found on REVTV channel 380 will look a little different. Described as “Her World. Her Way”, the brand refresh brings the network more aligned with its flagship brand BET.
“REV is gladly embracing Centric’s rebranding to BET HER,” says REVTV Product Coordinator M’khel Ferguson. “A huge segment of our subscribers are women between the ages of twenty five to fifty four, which is the channel’s target audience.” Ferguson continued, “We are committed to sourcing content to delight our subscribers and BET Her definitely fits the bill.”

Cable Bahamas Provides Immediate Relief to Evacuees From Southern Bahamian Islands

NASSAU, THE BAHAMAS (Thursday, September 21st) — Cable Bahamas wasted no time in providing support to those residents most impacted by the ravages of Hurricane Irma. According to Vice President of Marketing, David Burrows,  “While our primary objective was to ensure the continuity of services across all business entities and the quick restoration of any impacted services,  our relief teams were mobilised from before the storm hit.  We liaised with shelter administrators where the evacuees were housed at the Kendal GL Isaacs Gym and New Providence Community Centre (NPCC) to ensure they had a means of  staying up to date with the latest news and entertainment.”

Cable Bahamas Deploys Team to Assess Network post Hurricane Irma

“Restorations efforts underway on all impacted islands”
NASSAU, THE BAHAMAS (Wednesday, September 13th) — Cable Bahamas executive and COO, John Gomez asserts that the communications giant was pleased to see the rapid restoration of REV services for customers that experienced disruptions in their services over the weekend due to the effects of Hurricane Irma on the islands of Eleuthera and New Providence. Gomez confirmed that ten percent of the nodes were impacted in New Providence and forty seven percent impacted in Eleuthera. The executive continued that, “within twelve hours of the ‘All-Clear’ being issued, all impacted nodes were restored.”

Cable Bahamas Deploys Technical Team Immediately Following NEMA’s All-Clear for Central & Southeast Bahamas

“Safety remains a top concern as we assess our network”
NASSAU, THE BAHAMAS (Saturday, September 9th) — Cable Bahamas’ technical teams were deployed on Saturday, September 9th, immediately following the National Emergency Management Agency’s all-clear message for the central and southeast Bahamas, according to COO, John Gomez. The executive indicated that the network sustained minimal impact in the areas outside the southeast and northwest Bahamas, where Grand Bahama, Bimini and Andros remain under hurricane warning. “Intermittent commercial power outages affected some of the nodes in our network during the evening of September 8th and into the following morning but we worked closely with BPL to ensure swift service restoration.”
