REV to TLC and Discovery Fans: No More Espanol!
Discovery Inc. Updates Caribbean Feeds and Removes Spanish Interstitials from well loved networks.
REV TV customers, have great news to look forward to this summer! TLC and Discovery Networks will be distributing special network feeds exclusively for their subscribers in the Caribbean.
For several years due to licensing restrictions, both TLC and Discovery Network have been distributing their Latin American feeds to their subscribers throughout the Caribbean. This meant that REV TV viewers, like others throughout the region were subject programming where commercials and interstitials were primarily in Spanish.
This spring, after much lobbying and negotiations REV is proud to announce that both TLC (REV TV Channel 266) and Discovery Network (REV TV Channel 258) will appear 100% in English 24 hours a day.
REV’s Product Development Lead, M’khel Ferguson said, “This is a huge win for both our customers and the entire region! At REV, we are constantly working with our programmers to ensure our subscribers have access to content that is entertaining and relevant to their interests. After years of lobbying and expressing the importance of providing English content, we are happy to be able to provide two of our customer’s favorite channels in 100% English.
With this migration, customers will enjoy TLC favorites such as 90 Day Fiancé, Dr. Pimple Popper and will enjoy Shark Month in its full form when it launches in June on The Discovery Channel!”
Both TLC and Discovery Network appear in the REVTV Prime (Basic) Package. For more information on REVTV, or other REV products and services please visit www.rev.bs or call 601-2200 for details. Founded in March 1995, REV has grown from a cable TV service provider to become the first communications provider in The Bahamas to offer ‘triple play’ service. Today, the 100% Bahamian owned company is publicly listed on BISX with over 3,000 Bahamian shareholders. The network is comprised of 14 free-to-air broadcast systems, eight stand-alone cable TV systems and four triple play systems networked by submarine fibre. We are the only 100% Bahamian owned communications provider, delivering residential and corporate broadband internet, cable television and fixed line calling, to 99% of the Bahamian population, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
